People LOVED the S*** Out of #SharkWeek!
Maybe LOVED isn’t the right word? Maybe it should be “People Are Scared S***-Less of Sharks?” After all, 2015 has been a huge year for Shark attacks in the United States, especially along the Atlantic Coast. It’s also a possibility the popularity of #SharkWeek stems from our fascination with the majestic animals. According to ‘Sharkopedia’, Sharks appeared almost 200 MILLION years before the first dinosaurs. That’s a long time for a species and is a clear testament to the evolution of one of the world’s oldest lifeforms.
Discovery’s Got it Going On
SHARK WEEK, television’s longest-running summer TV event, returned to the Discovery Channel on July 5, 2015 for its 28th consecutive year. For an entire week (in case you’ve been living under a rock), Discovery aired shark-based programming meant to educate and entertain audiences in 72 countries on the beloved, yet often misunderstood fish. This year alone, 14 brand-new episodes were broadcasted.
